ABOUT THE BAND - Christian rock band Convicted formed late in 2001 as a group of guys committed to bringing a new form of Christian music to the world. Today, under the mantra of "a new kind of worship," Convicted is still going strong, showing the world that there is such a thing as hardcore Christian rock. Over the few years that Convicted has been together, they have grown both musically and spiritually, some even physically. “We started out doing a lot of cheezy cover tunes just because we didn’t really have enough originals to make a good show, and for a while, all the originals we wrote were pretty tame…almost ‘pop-ish’ if that makes sense. Now, most of the writing we do is pretty hardcore, much props to Disciple for showing us the light on that one!” says front-man Josh Ditto on the matter. With great lyrical, musical and creative improvements over their last album, the latest evolution in Convicted style promises to be a lasting one. “We have songs that go from speed metal to melodic ballad rock to a healthy mix of the two. Right now I think we’re finally getting comfortable and secure with our style and have found a genre that we all enjoy,”—James Houseman, lead guitar. Today, Convicted covers a musical spectrum previously untouched by artists of all cultures and genres, even beyond the Christian industry, and show no signs of stopping any time soon. With the release of the band’s sophomore effort “Under God” pending completion (look for it to drop spring 2005), the band is quickly reaching new heights in their ministry and is really looking forward to what God will bring them in the coming years.
