ABOUT THE BAND - Dynamic, melodic, original - all of these describe the sound of Second Left. Second Left has quickly developed a rich expressive sound that has brought the roots of rock & roll back to the main stream.
In 2000 the debut album release of Second Left's "Fruitful Abyss" (Silica Records) was more than just another independent record. Within weeks, the albums first single soared to the top of the FMQB charts finally settling at number 25. The band quickly became one of the top club bands in the tri-state area playing places like The Elbow Room in NYC and The Stone Pony in Jersey. Second Left also toured New England supporting the AAA radio play they had been getting for months.
Songwriters Scott Monetti (Lead Vocals & Piano, Organ) and Mike Galesi (Guitar & Vocals) met when Monetti tuned Galesi's piano in his studio. Although neither of the two were looking to start up any new projects, the duo recognized that they could write well together after hanging out and jamming one night. Monetti, a 12-year veteran of the regional scene, has produced and played with many of the hottest regional and national bands on the circuit today. Galesi spent the majority of his tour of duty in the Colorado scene. Both well versed in the art of making a record and playing in a band, they started a musical experiment that would eventually become Second Left.
Back with a new sound, in June 2004 Second Left released their second Silica album, "It's About Time". For this project, Second Left teamed up with Grammy winning producer John Rollo to complete the new line up. With Phil Roselle on acoustic guitar and Steve Blaufeter on bass, the band seems unstoppable. Second Left has also recruited top drummer Eric Addeo for the new band. Monetti and Addeo share many album credits including Addeo's band The Fins. The fans have been waiting and the band is ready to deliver. With a new powerful sound and a live show to back it up, Second Left is sure to entertain.
