Change of Intent is a simple music project founded by Cliff, also known as Hegpetz or JCH321. It has no real restrictions on what it may contain or create.
ABOUT THE BAND - Why this name?
I am always in a constant change of directions, always learning something which makes me see things in different light - it makes my intents and purposes change. Thus, Change of Intent is a suitable name I like to think.
Do you play live?
No but I wish I did. I currently plan to when I make the move to Tempe, Arizona in Jan '08!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet is one of the best things for the music industry because it allows music to truly be widespread and it allows anyone to experience all types of music and it especially allows them to bypass the biased media (radio, tv, etc...). MP3s are great because they have become such an icon even computer illiterate people can recognize the name - it has been a major factor in the spread of computer music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on a lot of factors.
Band History:
I've been in several small bands before, but I really can't say that they influence me much, they did teach me many valuable lessons though.
Your influences?
Anything from Bach or Beethoven to The Crystal Method and ATB to everything from and inbetween The Mars Volta, Brand New, Damien Rice, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Eminem, Thrice, The Killers, Maaya Sakamoto, Yuki Kajiura, Yoko Kanno, Ai Otsuka, BedLIGHT for BlueEYES, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Drew, Don't Look Down, Nightwish, Everclear, and many many others.
Favorite spot?
The beach.
Equipment used:
Primarily a MK-461C Evolution MIDI controller as well as the M-Audio Trigger Finger, I have two condenser mics, and a Tom Delonge signature guitar.
Anything else...?
I am technically still trying to find the sound I want right now - in the end I'd like to have at the very least, one of almost every style I like - from rap to heavy to pop to whatever, I don't really like genres much but that's the easiest way to get the point across I guess?
