ABOUT THE BAND - One summer day in Los Angeles, CA, with the help of veteran talent buyer Brian Lewis and his longtime associate Adam Labov, Christine Anderson put a simple microphone in front of the piano in her living room and recorded an entire album, LIVE, in a single take. There was no set song list, no producer, just Christine and her piano - improvising, composing songs impromptu, and succumbing completely to the inspiration as it consumed her. The resulting LP, Live Summer Session, rocketed the songstress from obscurity to indie stardom virtually overnight after she uploaded four of the 17 tracks to internet megaportal MySpace - spawning FM radio play, live television interviews, and magazine cover stories - and it has since been hailed by critics as one of the most powerful and highly respected creative performances of the indie music year.
With a red hot street buzz and the credibility that comes with writing all her own music, live and impromptu, Anderson is amassing a passionate cult following with her soulful voice, heartbreaking songwriting, and world class piano playing. The Los Angeles Music Award winner has appeared in special features on NBC, ABC, MTV, and MuchMusic, and she recently inked deals with MTV, URGE, IODA, iTunes, Movie Cues, and Pump Audio. Following the breakthrough success of Live Summer Session, production is now underway on Anderson's debut studio effort, slated for independent release with worldwide distribution in 2007. A purely instrumental record of impromptu piano solos is also in the works.
Anderson's past projects range from soloing with the Portland Sinfonietta at age eleven to songwriting collaborations with Iggy Pop guitarist Whitey Kirst and SlipKnot bassist Paul Grey. Anderson is the subject of a new music based reality series coming in fall 2008 to European television and Offener Kanal Münster and Offener Kanal Frankfurt in Germany.
