ABOUT THE BAND - Jack Tivoli is an interesting Brisbane born songwriter who has an incredible musical gift that taps into the issues that people face in this time poor society.
He records from his home most Saturday nights using basic recording gear and extremely limited recording know how.
However he writes for an established producer having worked with Powder Finger an others.
He records what has been written since he was 12 now 42 and surrounds himself with wonderful visual artists like Richard Bell assist in album cover design.
Most Saturday night recordings consist 1 take session of tracks and what ever is done in the session is posted on the site.
The music is produced from a deep desire to express and the music is in such a raw format that it will remain as a historical fact before any one may want to squash it into some marketable product.
The short project projects often bring forth terrible moments of bad recordings to great moments of musical ecstasy which Jack calls a flook.
His aim is to have more flooks than terrible
The highlights of the work is that people are doing remixes and you can see that under the remix section on the site.
On the site there is a video recording that his daughter made for her school project and it is pretty impressive for a 16 year old.
Including great rock roll moments on the city to city album and others, the body of work is large but quite revealing of Jacks perception of issues from depression, child abuse, drugs, love and hate. There are heavy criticisms pointed out in the devolution and dubya bin hitla albums on Iraq and the issues on our shores including the Cronulla riots.
There are songs of appreciation of friends who helped Jack through dark days of depression in the eighties.
When I am tired of the plastic crap that you find all over the entertainment world I switch on to Jack Tivoli's site and find my cold heart thaw out back to hope for humanity
